Kerry S. Hay

Attorney

About Kerry

Since 2003, Kerry has represented hundreds of injured or disabled clients.  Kerry has negotiated with many insurance adjusters to get settlements so that his clients get paid.  Kerry works hard to make sure his clients are competently and adequately represented in their claims.  His years of experience mean that he knows the law and he knows how to handle cases when it comes to auto accidents, workers’ compensation, Social Security Disability/SSI, black lung, and Virginia Retirement System disability issues.

Kerry is licensed before all courts of Virginia, including the Federal Court of the Western District of Virginia and the 4th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Kerry is also able to practice law regarding claims involving the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Social Security Administration, and the Virginia Retirement System.  Several cases Kerry has argued before the Virginia Court of Appeals appear in published opinions, including Advance Auto v. Craft, available here.

Kerry opened the Kerry Hay Law Office in 2012.  Since opening, the office has rapidly grown to include more locations and more employees in order to better serve Kerry’s clients. Kerry now has an office in Wise, Virginia as well as an office in Abingdon, Virginia.  He lives near Haysi, Virginia and will even meet with you in that area if that is more convenient than driving to Wise.

Before becoming an attorney, Kerry served with the United States Air Force for several years.  After the Air Force, he moved back to Dickenson County, Virginia and worked as a correctional officer before attending law school.  Since graduating law school, Kerry has been practicing essentially the same areas of law that he does today.

In his spare time, Kerry builds and flies radio controlled aircraft.  He also likes to spend time with his wife, Norma, and kids, Taylor and Justin.
