WORKERS' COMPENSATION

When you’ve been injured on the job you may be thinking, “Well, I can depend on my employer or the workers’ compensation insurance company to take care of my medical needs before I return to work.”  Unfortunately, that’s not always the case.  Both your employer and the insurance company have a financial interest in making sure you return to work as soon as possible — sometimes before you’re ready.

In Virginia, once you’re injured on the job, your employer is required to offer you a panel of doctors to choose from to treat you for your work-related injury.  Employers and insurance companies will try to send you to a doctor of THEIR choice so you’ll be “locked in” with that doctor for purposes of treatment.  Not good.  In addition, insurance companies sometimes try to call you shortly after your accident and record the telephone conversation.  Again, not good.  Insurance adjusters know the right questions to ask and the proper way to bait people to answer their questions.

Kerry has years of experience dealing with workers’ compensation insurance companies and adjusters.  Contact our office if you are injured on the job so we can sit down and talk about your case.  Oh, and it doesn’t cost you anything — talk is still free.
